Parker's Pack

Thank you for visiting Parker's Pack page. As you know I have chaired the Stroke Walk for a number of years. And sometimes I dedicate my walk to someone special that I lost that year. This year has been extremely heartbreaking for me as I lost my very dear friend Kay. Kay did not die from a stroke but of lung cancer. She fought right to the end.

Kay's stroke did leave lasting effects on her and made us closer because of it. Kay's stroke affected her vision and some of her cognition. Because of that, she could not drive so on Thursdays we got together, had lunch and usually did some errands. Kay loved the Stroke Foundation. She was a participant and then she was a volunteer. She also served on the Stroke Walk committee.

Through its Next Step program, the American Stroke Foundation helped Kay and other adult stroke survivors to reclaim hope and rebuild their lives. If you know someone who has had a stroke you know how hard that task is. Next Step programs are funded by people like you so this Stroke Walk is very important to our participants and the communities we serve. For more information about the program visit

Parker's Pack would love to have you walk with us on September 8th at Theis Park. If you're not able to join us for the actual walk, you can walk virtually from wherever you are -- you don't even need to get out of bed! Or you can make a donation. Kay would love your support.

We appreciate all the support we can get! Together we can make a difference! - Parker's Pack
