No Plateau in Sight
Thank you for visiting my No Plateau in Sight team page. Please help me support the American Stroke Foundation as it helps adult stroke survivors sustain hope and rebuild their lives. You may know someone who has had a stroke and are familiar with how hard that task is. It is a gradual process. The ASF’s Next Step program is critical to this journey and relies on support from people like you. For more information about the program visit americanstroke.org.
Please walk with No Plateau in Sight at the Stroke Walk, Saturday, September 7th. I’d be honored for you to join me. I’ll be there ready to walk with my “Saebo” exoskeleton device (seen in photo inset) enabling me to walk with Nordic hiking poles and helping to restore use of my left arm. If you're not able to join me and the ASF community for the actual walk, you can walk virtually from wherever you are -- you don't even need to get out of bed!
Your support is highly valued! Together we can make a difference! My personal goal is to be able to hike and snowshoe once again at Holden Village in the northern Cascade Mountains -- as seen in the photo above from my 2007 sabbatical. Today I "hike" in therapy sessions through the public spaces at Lakeview Village, Lenexa, Kansas (inset photo)! I often encounter folks involved in the ASF Next Step program when I work out at the gym at Sylvester Powell Jr. Community Center, Mission, Kansas, one of several ASF sites in greater Kansas City.
Thanks for supporting this work. Let’s all keep in mind that there is no plateau in sight wherever we happen to be in our journeys. Be well.
