Join us for a Saturday morning walk in the park!


There are two walk routes:
  • 2½ mile walk through Theis Park and along Brush Creek
  • ½ mile walk on paved pathways

The American Stroke Foundation challenges you to raise funds to empower stroke survivors and their families to overcome the challenges of life after stroke. Help us raise $60,000 this year. Join us for a great time and a great cause!
 

Registration:


Registration is $25 per person

A Stroke Walk t-shirt is included in registration for all those pre-registered by September 1, 2017. You must be present at the Walk to pick-up your t-shirt.


Walk-up participants are welcome on the day of the walk, but we can't guarantee that a t-shirt will be available in your size.

Theis Park is located just east of the Country Club Plaza and just south of the Nelson Atkins Museum.

 

Tribute Balloons: 
We honor survivors and remember the fighters! Purchase a tribute balloon when you register for $5 in honor of someone you love. You may also purchase balloons at the Walk. New this year: a Balloon Launch following the Walk! 

50-50 Raffle:

New This Year: A 50-50 Raffle at the Walk! Tickets will be on sale at the Walk for cash only beginning at $5. The winning ticket will be drawn at 11:15 am. Winner must be present to win. 

Entertainment: 

  • The Harvest Moon band returns again for your musical enjoyment
  • There is a Kid's Area at the Walk with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and other fun!


Weather: The Stroke Walk is on rain or shine! 

Parking: Parking is available at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center across Rockhill Road


For people with walking difficulties: There is a Drop-Off Area at Theis Park. Come north on Rockhill Rd from Volker Avenue; turn left into the Kauffman Gardens and drive to the turn-around area. A Stroke Walk volunteer will be there to give directions. There are a limited number of handicapped parking spaces available at the Kauffman Gardens.

Dogs are Welcome: Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Walkers are responsible for watering and cleaning up after their dogs.
