Join us for a Saturday morning walk in the park!

There are two walk routes:
  • 2½ mile walk through Theis Park and along Brush Creek
  • ½ mile walk on paved pathways

The American Stroke Foundation challenges you to raise funds to empower stroke survivors and their families to overcome the challenges of life after stroke. Help us raise $70,000 this year. Join us for a great time and a great cause!


Registration is $25 per person 

A Stroke Walk t-shirt is included in your registration fee. Please be sure to indicate the size you need when you register.



8-9:30 am Registration & T-Shirt Pick-up
8:30 am Continental Breakfast, Music, Vendor Booths Open
9:30 am Opening Ceremonies
9:45 am The Stroke Walk Start Time
After the Walk Take time to visit the vendor booths and enjoy the family activities!


Walk Location:

Theis Park  
4800 Rockhill Road
Kansas City, MO

Theis Park is located just east of the Country Club Plaza and just south of the Nelson Atkins Museum.


50-50 Raffle: Tickets will be on sale at the Walk for cash only. Cost of tickets are 2 for $5, 5 for $10, and 15 for $20. The winning ticket will be drawn at the Walk. Winner must be present to win. 


  • New this year: The Mega Brain! Walk through this large inflatable brain and discover how your brain works from the inside out. Check it out here!
  • The Harvest Moon band returns again for your musical enjoyment
  • There is a Kid's Area at the Walk with bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and other fun!


Weather: The Stroke Walk is on rain or shine! 



  • For people with walking difficulties: There is a Drop-Off Area at Theis Park. Come north on Rockhill Rd from Volker Avenue; turn left into the Kauffman Gardens and drive to the turn-around area. A Stroke Walk volunteer will be there to give directions. Handicapped parking is available in the Kauffman Gardens parking lot.
  • General Parking: is available at the Kauffman Foundation across Rockhill Road.
  • Please obey the Parking Volunteers! 
Dogs are Welcome: Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Walkers are responsible for watering and cleaning up after their dogs.
